Callaway Gardens Resort -Mountain View, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
Golfers seeking a real test of their abilities look forward to playing 7,057 yard, par 72 Mountain View. The course was designed Dick Wilson. Tight, tree-lined fairways are characteristic of course.
Mountain View was home to the PGA Tour's Buick Challenge for more than a dozen years.
One of Mountain View's most famous holes is the par 5, number 15 where the threat of water looms over both tee and approach shots. This hole was ranked as the fourth most difficult par 5 on the Tour by USA Today.
From the 7057-yard championship tees, the course rating is 73.7 and slope 139.
From the 6630-yard white tees, the course rating is 71.9 and slope 134.
From the 5789-yard green tees, the course rating is 68.2 and slope 126.
From the 4883-yard forward tees, the course rating is 69.4 and slope 120.

To be fair, the course fairways had not come out of dormancy yet (early April) which led to thin fairways and some tough lies. On one par 5, we laid up left of the fairway to avoid the right water hazard and our balls rolled all the way across the fairway and into the hazard! Still, the layout is interesting and challenging. Played in the summer, it could be a very nice experience. The clubhouse seems dated and worn but this is a small item as all we really want is a nice course. Play this course once and judge for yourself. If I lived nearby I would play it often but would not travel more than an hour to play it. Better than a muni but not resort quality.
